Opener Salman Butt scored a career best 136 and his second hundred of the series as Pakistan thrashed Bangladesh by 150 runs in Karachi to sweep the series 5-0.
Butt ended the series with an average of and 451 runs as his latest effort allowed Pakistan to make 329-9 from their 50 overs before dismissing the tourists to 179 all out with almost ten overs remaining. It was as emphatic a victory as was seen in the one-sided series.
Player of the series Butt faced just 124 deliveries and combined in a 172-run partnership for the second wicket with the returning Younis Khan, who made 69 from 80 balls. Misbah-ul-Haq completed the rout with a late cameo of 35 from 22 balls.
Bangladesh did well to make the total they did in the event after slumping to 23-4. They were indebted to their number ten batsman Abdur Razzak for his 33 at the end that helped eke out a more respectable total. Mohammad Asif claimed 3-35 from his eight overs to collect the man of the match award.
Razzak and most of the Pakistan players will now depart fro India and their respective Indian Premier League teams. In-form Butt will play at Kolkata and Younis at Jaipur.
