About Me
Profile: A left-arm spinner who can be a tricky adversary for the best batsmen in world cricket, illustrated by some of his impressive spells during the 2007 World Cup in the Caribbean. There, he claimed 3-38 and 3-25 in shock wins over India and South Africa respectively while also producing a tidy spell of 2-38 from ten overs against England. He has become one of the most accurate spin bowlers in the world, through a skiddy action that hurries the ball onto batsmen. It is no surprise therefore that he possesses one of the best economy rates in the world, which may be a reason that persuaded the Bangalore Royal Challengers to offer him an IPL contract in March 2007. He initially established himself in the Bangladesh team as a one-day specialist but is expected to develop his game in Test cricket now that veteran left-arm spinner Mohammed Rafique has retired.
